Dry and Wet Media Illustration

Overview

The course intends to involve students in the development of expressive skills using dry and wet drawing media such as graphite, colour pencils, crayons, acrylic, poster and pastels for graphic communication. Historical and other theoretical information on dry and media and illustration will be discussed. Techniques to be studied include pen and wash, water colour wash and flat tonal rendering using gouache/poster colours. The course will also involve the conversion of final works into digital formats. The course also seeks to identify types of dry and wet media for illustration, describe the basic characteristics of selected dry media and demonstrate an understanding of rendering techniques of some selected dry and wet media for illustration.
